We are currently looking for an experienced Assistant Finance Manager, who will join our great team in the Central Office in Offenbach, Germany.


Requirements

    The Assistant Finance Manager is a key role for the Centralized Finance Department, since you are jointly responsible for the financial administration of the Management GmH as well as our hotels. Our portfolio currently consists of the Moxy Dusseldorf, Moxy Darmstadt, Moxy Kelsterbach, AC Mainz, Delta Hotels by Marriott Frankfurt Offenbach und Schloss Lieser Hotelbetriebs GmbH & Co. KG. You are responsible for the administration, coordination, and control of incoming and outgoing invoice flows and you contribute to (the improvement of) the operational financial process. Furthermore, you are responsible for the preparation of periodic reports. This role is supported and controlled by the Area Finance Manager Germany.

     

    You love numbers and hotels. You have an analytical and warm personality and you are an expert in Excel and financial systems. You think not only from the figures, but also from the operational and the hotel group perspective.

     


    Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage all internal financial processes
  • Control of all incoming invoices and responsibility for a fully open creditors list
  • Monitoring debtor positions, assessing outstanding items and credit terms. Responsible for a favorable aging
  • Checking and posting payments
  • Assess trends in sales / purchases and / or payment behavior conditions per customer / supplier, make proposals with regards to adjustment of payment conditions
  • Processing cash payments from the various departments
  • Responsible for the entire general cashiering procedure; checking, booking, and daily tracking of the General Cashier journals. Finding out differences and implementing improvement processes
  • Detecting and resolving missing and incorrect bookings, determining corrections to be implemented
  • Control of daily revenue and the associated income audit tasks
  • Periodic preparation of forecast based on the budget
  • (Co-) Drawing up and monitoring an annual budget
  • Taking care of the period end closing
  • Preparation of VAT return
  • Maintaining contacts with the operational departments to promote the correct implementation of the Marriott policies and procedures
  • Comply with all standards that belong to Marriott & Tribute Portfolio
  • Indicate improvement opportunities in the operational processes based on the actual performance, information needs of management
  • Conducting work meetings with the Area Finance Manager about the course of events and coordinating relevant bottlenecks of development
  • Monitor progress and quality
  • Translating legal and company rules to the business situation and drafting administrative rules
  • Determine and implement necessary recovery entries
  • Prepare financial reports and overviews by Area Finance Manager or OHG (sales, cash flow, cost structure)
  • Ensure unambiguous procedures and standardized working methods
  • Implementing improvements
  •

    Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Hotel Management or Accounting
  • Minimum of 3-years of experience in both Debtors and Creditors Administration or minimum 1-year experience in a similar position
  • Analytical
  • Numbers freak
  • Representative
  • Independent in his / her profession, good communication skills with other departments
  • Understands the operation
  • Speaks and writes fluently in German and English
  • Experience with Filosof and Navision (MDBC) is a plus
