Assistant

Latvian research team is looking for a field assistant (2 vacancies).

We are looking for someone who:

• Is interested in agriculture.
• Is interested in plant protection, crop variety studies; agricultural pests, such as weeds, plant pathogens and plant-feeding insects.
• Wants to have a dynamic work environment and enjoy the perks of working in fresh air in summer season.
• Wants to participate in international projects in plant protection in the private sector.
• English language skills will be considered as an advantage for the applicant.

Requirements:

• Ability to identify different weed species, crop diseases and pests or the motivation to acquire this knowledge.
• B category car driver’s license (not mandatory).
• High sense of responsibility and ability to work independently.
• Quick learner.
• Strong collaborative skills/team player.

• Workplace in the preferred plant protection research organization in the EU North Zone.
• Welcoming team at Latvian research station.
• Opportunities have experience exchange and take part in seminars held in Agrolab research stations in Denmark, Sweden and Lithuania.
• Possibilities to acquire new skills, grow professionally and increase your qualification.
• Gross Salary - 1140 – 1720 EUR.
