Category Manager (Food retail)

Currently we are launching a new venture in Latvia-Riga, to help retail professional to market products exclusively made by local farmers and small producers. For this purpose we are creating a chain of farm-shops and looking for open minded, crazy enough professionals to create something unique in the industry.

We are looking for a leader in building assortment of natural products made by local farmers and small producers.

Responsibilities:

• Formation of assortment. Food made by local farmers and small producers. Natural only. Meat, dairy, bakery, drinks, etc.
• Track performance on all SKUs within assigned categories.
• Track and improve sales, margin, minimum performance standards, trends, and category results.
• Promotional results including category lift and increased store traffic.
• Initiate and develop new buying trends and purchase agreements.
• Maintain planograms.
• Networking with farmers and small producers.

Skills and Qualifications:

Candidates who apply for the Category Manager position must possess the following skills:

• 2+ years of experience in retail (groceries) /operations and/or 2+ years of buying experience in the retail industry (Food retail; FMCG).
• BS/BA Degree in Marketing, Business or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with category analytics.
• Negotiating Experience.
• Understand local food market, promotional strategies, and competitive environment.
• Strong data and technical skills, including Microsoft Office products (Excel).
• English language/Russian language.
