Compliance Manager

We are looking for a Compliance Manager who will be responsible for a broad range of day-to-day matters of compliance function at Mintos, with a focus on compliance with MiFID II/ MiFIR,, MAR and the wider EU and Latvial rulebook applicable to MiFID II investment service providers. Reporting to team lead and working closely with CCO, you'll partner with Product, Engineering and other 1st lines of business to turn regulation into operating reality across our markets.

What you’ll do:

• Draft, update, and manage compliance policies and procedures, coordinating implementation with business teams.
• Assess compliance implementation measures and collaborate with the 1st line of business teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal requirements.
• Maintain and develop regulatory compliance registers and records.
• Monitor and identify changes in EU and local regulatory compliance requirements, including those applicable under the passporting regime, and inform the Mintos team of developments.
• Plan and control regulatory impact assessments and oversee the implementation of measures to ensure compliance with new requirements alongside the first line of business.
• Provide regulatory compliance input and oversight for the implementation of new product roadmaps to support business development.
• Execute the compliance monitoring plan - including testing, sample-based reviews, and thematic deep-dives - and report on findings.
• Draft and present reports on compliance function performance, plan delivery, and risk-related matters, both internally and to relevant competent authorities.
• Liaise with Latvijas Banka and other competent authorities on compliance issues, and respond to queries from supervisory authorities and internal audit.
• Collaborate with external legal counsel in other countries to identify and assess regulatory requirements.
• Provide guidance and education to staff on regulatory compliance issues, including preparing and delivering internal training materials.
• Manage the updating of regulatory disclosure documents for investors of the Mintos platform in collaboration with legal counsel.

• BA degree from a reputable university in law or economics
• At least 4-5 years of regulatory compliance experience in an EU investment firm / bank / payment institution
• Working knowledge of MiFID II / MiFIR
• Written / spoken English and Latvian, including hands-on experience in drafting legal documentation
• Ability to translate regulation into operational controls
• Excellent project and task management skills and self-discipline, with the ability to prioritize, work independently, and manage workload effectively
• Professional, reliable, and flexible approach to work
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Nice to have

• Masters degree in law, economics or LLM or specialized education or professional qualification in compliance or project management
• Familiarity with DORA, AMLR, MAR, GDPR, CRR/CRD.
• Familiarity with modern workplace tools, including project management software (JIRA or alike) and experience leveraging AI tools for productivity.
