Crewing / Recruitment Manager - Cameroon

Job Description

• Responsible for all Area crewing activities, including crew scheduling, identifying recruitment needs, training, Company orientation, initiation of seafarer background checks in liaison with Regional office, performance management and delivery on all area crewing goals and targets.
• Provide crewing expertise to area fleet, being the focal support to the Area Manager in his responsibility of “ownership of the people” mandate.
• Create value by overseeing the optimisation of scheduling of all area fleet sea-staff.
• Supervise and monitor the accuracy and execution of payroll for personnel within designated area.
• Conduct monthly manpower analysis, manpower projections and maintain appropriate sea staff levels to meet area requirements. Early identification of recruitment needs is critical.
• Maintain Two yearly retention/attrition graph and statistics for area fleet.
• Owner of fleet recruitment requirements and promotion listings.
• Create value by ensuring the adequate development of all fleet seafarers through targeted training initiatives and planning.
• Monitor Budget compliance for all area fleet manning, training, including projects, new-builds and induction as instructed by Area Manager.
• Ownership of area fleet specific Crewing procedures and responsible for maintaining same within SMS, ensuring that all required approvals are obtained.
• Process promotions and ensure all policies are adhered to.
• Act as Crewing partner within area operations, by liaison with area operations and technical operations. Promote talents and candidates to shore positions when identified.
• Participate in Area Fleet Emergency response team.
• Conduct Performance appraisals for direct reports.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Crew Management position, preferably within the Offshore sector - alternatively a Senior Officer with AHTS / PSV experience will be considered.
• Able to demonstrate Managerial/administrative/leadership skills.
• Ability to respond positively to customers in an effective manner.
• Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to a changing environment.
• Understanding of business processes and functions.
• Knowledge of Marine Training & Certification legislation and requirements.
