Job description

1923 Investments plc is seeking to recruit a Data Protection Officer to assume responsibility for advising the company on privacy-related matters, raising awareness and driving the company’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance program.

The Data Protection Officer shall also be responsible for:

  • providing support to other Malta-based subsidiaries of 1923 Investments plc;
  • reporting to the non-executive Chairman and the Board of Directors;
  • the Data Protection Officer will identify any gaps for better compliance with GDPR, oversee the implementation and upgrading of information-handling processes, and train key personnel on the procedures which must be adhered to and review new acquisitions for compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • The preferred candidate will have a university degree in Law or IT and at least two years’ experience in a similar role.
  • The successful candidate will be in possession of excellent time management and communication skills and will be able to interact with employees at all levels, clients and authorities.
  • IAPP qualifications and familiarity with OneTrust will be considered an asset.
