We are rapidly growing our capabilities and now looking for a detail-oriented Deputy Chief Accountant with strong analytical and operational skills. The role will be to support TheSoul Publishing studio in Riga by performing full-cycle accountancy, tax & payroll activities as well as on-going change projects.

 

Job responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the local management accounts to ensure accuracy and timely submission on a monthly basis within agreed group reporting deadlines.
  • Assisting with the local monthly payroll. This will involve data preparation, analysis and reporting to the Studio Chief Accountant.
  • Entering purchase details (Vendor Information, Creation, Invoicing and Pricing) into our accounting system.
  • Coordinating with the Warehouse Manager (WM) on regular inventory audits and reporting on audit findings. Inventory checks must be performed both from system to inventory and vice versa.
  • Communicating with the company's buyers and WM to ensure purchases do not exceed budget and recommending improvements to the process.
  • Assisting on preparation and/or review of inventory & fixed asset trend reports for Management.
  • Assisting with the preparation of the Quarterly and Annual Budget for the Studio by providing information gathered for more accurate insights of the expected forecast.
  • Working with Studio Chief Accountant to assist with the monthly group financial close process.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc finance reports by maintaining a data oriented mindset to help the Company have more data points and lead to more accurate financial insights. This will help the company make more data-driven commercial decisions.
  • Assisting with global finance projects run from HQ.
  • Assisting with VAT returns to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
  • Assisting with Corporation Income Tax Declarations to ensure accuracy and timely submission.

Requirements

  • University degree (finance, accounting, economics preferred).
  • Ideally 3-5 years relevant finance, accounting & payroll experience.
  • ACA, ACCA qualification (preferred).
  • Able to travel for business trips to other studios/locations (1-2 times per year).
  • Excellent communications skills, resilient, critical thinker.
  • Driven, can demonstrate high effectiveness when working with other departments, proactive.
  • Must have attention to detail, however balance the requirements for processes to be effective and robust.
