The British chamber of commerce in Latvia is seeking a full-time Executive director. As the business of the chamber grows, with increasing interest in Latvia from abroad, this is an exciting time to join us and help develop further an organisation at the hub of business activity in Latvia.

The chosen applicant must have a bachelor’s degree, at least five years of good commercial, post-graduate experience, be used to representing his/ her organisation at networking events and presenting to clients.

We serve over 100 members, both local and international, and are rapidly growing. The Executive director must regularly liaise with our members to understand their needs, organise chamber networking events, deal with trade enquiries, act as editor and sell advertising space for our bi-monthly magazine, update the chamber web-site with the latest chamber news and be responsible for developing and marketing new business services. We are looking for an individual with the ability to enhance and grow the chamber’s profile and image.

The position will suit an imaginative, sociable, highly-motivated, disciplined and self-starting individual, used to working proactively and achieving business goals independently. Also, advanced proficiency in Office IT skills is necessary, as well as excellent Latvian and English. The ability to communicate in Russian is desirable.

The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 to 6, with work also required on some evenings and weekends. We offer a competitive salary, which will be commensurate with the chosen applicant’s experience. We are also prepared to offer additional compensation to the applicant who is able to move the chamber forward and develop new business lines.
