Project Estimator (Electrical installation)

SINTEC UK LIMITED is looking for a Project Estimator (Electrical installation) to carry out accurate estimation and preparation of competitive commercial offers.

Key Responsibilities:

• prepare a full estimate of projects to be reviewed, authorized and submitted by Senior Managers;
• interpretation of electrical design layout and tender technical documentation;
• maintain estimation document in the English language to reflect all cost indicators (direct, indirect and hidden), with continuous updates and improvement;
• receive Request for Quotation (RFQ) documents and organize them accordingly;
• prepare a pre-tendering document with a decision-making criterion on Bid/No bid approach to RFQs;
• following the decision to Bid on a project, study relative information thoroughly, and prepare a list of questions or clarifications to be directed to a customer;
• attend technical meetings with the customer for tender and scope overview and discussions;
• liaise closely with a Procurement Manager regarding cost and selection of equipment and materials to achieve best value at tender stage;
• prepare accurate commercial offer for submission to a customer in line with set deadlines and requirements;
• ability to manage multiple projects at one time;
• ability to be able to determine the necessity of site visits to understand build ability and risk;
• obtain feedback and learn from each project.

• previous electrical estimating experience;
• minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Electrical Estimator, acknowledge of industrial and automation projects will be a benefit to the candidate;
• good and workable knowledge of Microsoft Office;
• excellent communication and written skills;
• good numerical skills;
• ability to work within deadlines and under pressure;
• high level of detail accuracy;
• good commercial awareness;
• on site surveying capabilities;
• a relevant degree level qualification in engineering or related discipline;
• able to read and interpret construction plans and engineering drawings;
• experience in working with AutoCAD 2 and 3D drawings;
• experience with working with estimating software;
• strong organization and time management skills.
