Due to company`s consistent growth an exciting opportunity has become available: to join our success story as part of our team: Service Manager. This is new and exciting opportunity to be part of international organisation and play vital role in our Service department, here in Latvia, based in Liepāja. You can become a part of our success story and join exciting journey within Caljan. You would be part of global team who is working in different locations. In your role you will be working in our new facilities, which just been freshly finished, and office is in Liepāja, Latvia.

Due to steady organic growth Caljan has recently opened new factory in USA and just finished to build new factory and office building in Latvia.

Service Manager provides guidance, instruction and direction for the Service Team of Service Coordinators, Service Technicians and Service hotline employees and making sure that the team meets customer (external and internal) needs, expectations, and internal deadlines.

 

Responsibilities:

This position holds one of the key roles in the global service organization. The Service Manager is part of the global aftermarket management team with the responsibility of building and leading support functions used by the service departments around the world. The right candidate will have the opportunity to have a strong influence on the Caljan service setup.

Further the Service Manager provides guidance, instruction and direction for the Service Team of Service Coordinators, Service Technicians and Service hotline employees (setting up these functions) making sure the team meets customer (external and internal) needs, expectations, and internal deadlines.

  • The Service Manager is responsible for building and driving a service support organization with:

Service coordinators, coordinating service jobs including technical clarification, quotes and documentation.

Service engineers creating spare parts prices, spare part kits and service documentation

Service hotline providing 16/7 support

Field service engineers serving as resource pool for the local service departments in Europe

  • The Service Manager is responsible for service, warranties, spare-parts, retrofits, installations, and hotline calls to support to customers as well as Caljan Group Service Departments globally.
  • Develop, produce, and maintain standards for the global aftermarket organization such as service work instructions, technical service documentation, documenting service offerings like spare parts kits etc.
  • Develop and maintain a strong collaboration with the local service managers globally.
  • To coach, motivate employees and ensure teamwork among team members and across countries.
  • Ensures all employees in the service support organization are initially trained by developing training programs to ensure high level of competences
  • Maintains an up-to-date technical knowledge on all products sold as well as new product introductions
  • Daily coordination to ensure execution of planned work and installations.
  • Ensures scheduling of Service Technicians for efficient and timely responsiveness to customers’ service needs while keeping overtime costs.

Requirements

Required Experience:

  • Relevant higher technical or commercial education and preferable industry experience from a technical environment.
  • Minimum 3 years related experience from a Service, Technical, Engineering or Warranty Manager position.
  • Strong and visible leader, skilled at delegating to and motivating employees
  • Knowledge of good practice in project/ planned work schedule delivery
  • Customer focused and commercially oriented - ability to understand customer needs and has a sales-minded attitude
  • Strong collaborative/interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a high growth/continuous change environment
  • Ability to plan and control
  • Able to think outside the box, look for new solutions but at the same time to drive quality of customer focus at a high level
  • Fluent (written and oral) in English and Latvian.
