Job Description
The successful candidate will work as a Senior Specialist – System Administrator and Engineer within the ICT Infrastructure & Facilities Unit, in charge of IT engineering and supporting the Europol data centre as well as the server and storage infrastructure. The main responsibilities may include:
- Managing and maintaining Europol’s servers and data centre infrastructure;
- Supporting colleagues and partners in resolving problems related to the server infrastructure;
- Carrying out planned maintenance operations including documentation;
- Designing, monitoring and maintaining servers, data centres, and critical-environment infrastructure within Europol;
- Investigating and developing solutions for requests by management or partners as well providing support for the procurement of IT equipment;
- Manage consultants working on the systems in the area of responsibilities.
Requirements
Your profile:
We are looking for senior specialists from all EU Member States, who have:
- Knowledge of end-to-end data center architecture, including
applications, computers, hardware for servers including blade server
technologies, storage and network;
- Experience and knowledge of VMware technology, architecture, configuration or deployment with VMware ESX and vCenter as well as experience on ESX servers from command line;
- Experience and knowledge in system administration of Microsoft-oriented infrastructure;
- Experience in maintaining Microsoft Server operation systems and core server-side services such as Active Directory, Exchange Server and SharePoint;
- Experience and knowledge in storage area networks architecture and configuration, experience on EMC storage area network technologies.
