• Working within press shop, potentially noisy and dirty working area. Jobholder must be component at setting and ensuring that safe working practices are carried out.
• Degree of manual lifting involved when collecting and repairing press/assembly tooling.
• Recognized Certificate in Mechanical Engineering and Grinding Wheel Regulations required along with a good knowledge of Press Health and Safety measures Preferred.
• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar manufacturing environment and position. Good practical manufacturing, setting and assembly techniques Preferred.
• Computer/keyboarding skills. Long with component hand tooling/measuring equipment usage.
• Good eye for detail. Able to read drawings and specifications. Evidence of ability to get on with staff at all levels. Good communication skills.
• Fluent in English, both oral and in written text.

Main function of job:
• To become familiar with all Albright components produced in the press shop.
• To be familiar with materials, components, and assembly techniques within Albright China.
• Be familiar with setting various mechanical presses, ensure that all press tooling is correctly repaired and maintained to the required standards.
• Ensure that tooling is repaired efficiently and returned to relevant departments promptly so as to minimize down time.
• Be able to trial new or repaired tooling as required for all Albright production departments.
• Support all production areas as required, advise technically where applicable.
Main duties:
• Ensure effective tooling repairs and checkovers are maintained.
• Make sure components/assemblies comply with the latest drawings.
• Maintain that all tooling is suitable for production.
• Produce new tooling for production as required.
• Troubleshoot production problems.
• Assess component problems and advise.
• Diagnose faults ant take remedial action.
• Ensure that tool room consumables are maintained.
Tools/Equipment used:
• Good understanding of the use of hand tools and inspection measuring equipment, the safe use of mechanical machinery. Component and safe use of Grinding, Milling and Turing machines plus any other associated tool room equipment.
