Tasks and responsibilities

  • Perform electrical maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on professional kitchen and catering equipment (ovens, cookers, refrigeration units, dishwashers, preparation equipment, control panels, motors, sensors, drives).
  • Execute integrated electro-mechanical maintenance where electrical and mechanical systems are functionally interconnected.
  • Carry out all necessary mechanical disassembly, adjustment, and reassembly required to complete electrical repairs (e.g., access panels, assemblies, belts, hinges, seals, actuators, mounting and alignment).
  • Maintain, inspect, test, and repair on-site generators, including associated electrical systems, control panels, starters, and safety devices.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical components and general fixtures (doors, hinges, locks, frames, seals, equipment parts) where required for equipment operability and safety.
  • Ensure all electrical works are performed in accordance with applicable electrical regulations, standards, and internal safety procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance plans and schedules for kitchen and catering assets.
  • Support installation, commissioning, testing, and handover of new electrical kitchen and catering equipment.
  • Identify recurring electrical or mechanical failures and propose corrective actions, technical upgrades, or equipment replacement.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, test results (where applicable), and spare parts usage documentation.
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, service partners, and spare part suppliers when specialized support is required.
  • Ensure availability and proper management of critical spare parts, tools, and test equipment.
  • Provide on-site breakdown response and technical support to catering operations, including fault isolation and safe equipment reinstatement.
  • Support internal, client, and third-party audits related to equipment condition, safety, and maintenance documentation.
  • Advise management on equipment lifecycle costs, maintenance strategies, and long-term asset planning.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • The candidate must have a passport issued by a NATO country and be eligible to work in the EU.
  • Certified electrician qualification with valid electrical license or certification recognized in Latvia / EU.
  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance of professional kitchen, catering, or comparable industrial equipment.
  • Demonstrated hands-on competence in mechanical intervention that is required to complete electrical repairs (disassembly, adjustment, reassembly, alignment, replacement of mechanical sub-components).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Good understanding of preventive maintenance systems and asset management principles.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene requirements applicable to food preparation environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Ability to work independently in operational and sometimes time-critical environments.
  • Good documentation and reporting skills.
  • Basic computer skills (maintenance logs, checklists, MS Office).
  • Working proficiency in English and Latvian.
