Financial controller

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented financial professional to take full ownership of our accounting, financial reporting, and controlling functions. Based full-time in our Riga office, you will be the guardian of our financial integrity and a key advisor to the owner and management team.

• Experience: Proven experience (5+ years preferred) in accounting, financial reporting, and financial control, preferably within a distribution, wholesale, or retail/e-commerce environment.
• Education: University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Technical Skills:

- Expert knowledge of Latvian accounting principles and taxation laws.

- High proficiency with ERP systems (experience with Moneo is a major advantage).

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and reporting.

• Language: Professional fluency in Latvian (both written and verbal). Proficiency in English is highly beneficial.
• Personal Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

Financial Management & Control:

• Oversee all daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with Latvian and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP).
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.

Reporting & Analysis:

• Prepare comprehensive financial statements, management reports, and performance analysis (e.g., budgeting, variance analysis, cash flow forecasting).
• Provide strategic insights to management on financial performance, cost efficiency, and profitability across brand portfolios.

Compliance & Audit:

• Manage tax filings, VAT declarations, and regulatory compliance in Latvia.
• Coordinate and manage external audits.

System Management:

• Be the super-user and manager of our business management system (Moneo or similar ERP), ensuring data accuracy and system optimization for financial reporting.
