Sintec UK is a London based mechanical and electrical contractor that provides a wide range of professional installation services, specialising in automation technologies for material handling and storage systems. We have carried out projects worldwide, notably in UK, Europe, USA, Brazil, Australia and other regions. We are global service provider, installing conveyors systems and other equipment for companies such as Amazon, Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Ocado, BMW, Nestle and many others.

Latvian subsidiary of SINTEC UK is looking for a HR Manager based in Riga office.

Role description:

SINTEC UK is looking to add a HR Manager for its Riga office. You will be handling the day-to-day HR matters for Riga and London office with Managing Director (based in the UK) assisting for the UK. Recruitment and employment of personnel as the need arises, formulating, driving and improving HR policies, handling complaints and grievances. This is likely to take 15-20 % of the time and the rest of the time will be spent on supporting the Technical Team with estimations by conducting research into employment requirements across various countries and providing them with information they require. You will also be supporting the Project Management Team during project execution stage. You will be supported by  external consultants for Latvian Labour Law and UK Labour law, hence, strong knowledge of the UK law is not required, however, a good understanding of the Latvian laws and regulations is a must.  Managing Director will provide guidance on UK as and if required.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Managing Director based in London, you will be running a team of Recruiter and HR Administrators who are based in Riga.
  • Work closely with various stakeholders internally and externally to meet corporate objectives.
  • Be largely responsible for recruitment of office based and site based personnel including formulation of and execution of recruitment campaigns.
  • Develop, oversee and improve internal HR procedures, and take an active role in internal an external audits.
  • Stay on top of UK and LV legislative changes to ensure employment contracts are in line with laws and requirements.
  • Conduct research and build a solid understanding and record of various employment requirements across other countries in which we operate. (using consultants or conducting self-research)
  • Manage corporate UKBA sponsorship systems.
  • Be responsible for formulation of corporate packages, incentives, and other corporate programs and making sure they are competitive.
  • Lead annual reviews for site and office based staff.
  • Understand and actively participate in improving and promoting internal paygrade system.
  • Support Technical Team with research into various employment requirements across various countries, using internal or external resources.
  • Support Project Management Team during project preparation and execution stages.
  • Understand corporate requirements and provide solutions as to how to meet them. These will be largely associated with growing the pool of site team employees, retention and having the right skill set.
  • Drive HR related projects.
  • Assist Managing Director with some basic corporate needs.

Requirements

Candidate Description:

Giving the nature of the role we don’t expect you to be an expert on every aspect. However, to hit the ground running we would expect the candidate to have a decent understanding of Latvian Labour Law. You are certainly a curious individual that is keen to learn and develop knowledge and understanding of UK requirements and other countries if and where required. You are enthusiastic, with a can do attitude, ability to manage its own workload and on occasions work within tight deadlines. You are business minded and flexible.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a HR Manager.
  • Ideally with a background in construction industry.
  • HR, social science or other relevant degree is preferred but not a must.
  • Good understanding of Latvian labour law.
  • Proven experience in recruiting and HR document administration.
  • Excellent communication skills, and ability to communicate with staff at all levels, especially when under pressure.
  • High-level proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Creative approach to problem solving.
  • Fluency in both English and Latvian (written and verbal) is a must.

Salary: 2500-3500 depending on experience.
