KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Procurement & Sourcing

  • Develop, own and execute the annual and multi-year procurement strategy for Latvijas Balzams, in alignment with Stoli Group’s global supply chain framework.
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across all key spend categories including raw materials (spirits, ingredients, botanicals, water treatment chemicals), packaging (glass, labels, closures, cartons), utilities, logistics, and MRO.
  • Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis and implement cost optimisation programmes without compromising quality or supply security.
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers; lead competitive tender processes and contract negotiations.
  • Conduct market and pricing analysis to identify trends and structural changes across product categories, supporting forecasting and procurement strategy development.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Build and manage a robust supplier base, establishing long-term partnerships with key strategic vendors.
  • Implement and monitor supplier performance management frameworks, including KPIs, scorecards, and regular business reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with critical suppliers to improve quality, lead times, and innovation.
  • Manage supplier risk assessments and maintain business continuity / dual-sourcing plans for critical categories.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner closely with Production, Quality, Finance, and Customer Service teams to ensure procurement decisions support operational requirements and financial targets.
  • Develop flexible procurement strategies and inventory policies aligned with production requirements, forecasted volumes, and operational constraints.
  • Ensure procurement planning reflects category-specific conditions, including supplier lead times, batch sizes, and ingredient processing requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Latvijas Balzams and the Stoli Group Global Supply Chain function, reporting on procurement performance, aligning on group contracts, and contributing to global category strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team on budget planning, spend analytics and savings tracking.
  • Support new product development projects by sourcing and qualifying new materials and packaging within project timelines.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor and develop the local procurement team, fostering a high-performance, commercially minded culture.
  • Set clear objectives and KPIs for team members; conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Build procurement capability across the organisation through training and process improvement.

Compliance, Risk & Governance

  • Ensure all procurement activities are conducted in full compliance with Stoli Group policies, ethical standards, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain robust contract management practices; ensure all significant supplier agreements are properly documented and renewed on time.
  • Oversee procurement-related ESG and sustainability commitments, including responsible sourcing and supplier diversity initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, logistical, currency, and commodity price risks.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA is an advantage.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or team leadership role.
  • Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings and supplier performance improvements in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Experience working within a multinational organisation and managing the interface between local and global procurement functions.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms) and spend analytics tools.
  • Fluency in both Russian and English is mandatory — written and spoken (used for supplier negotiations, internal reporting, and communication with Stoli Group stakeholders). Latvian language skills are an advantage.

Preferred

  • Experience in the spirits, beverage, food & beverage, or broader FMCG sector.
  • Familiarity with Latvian and EU regulatory frameworks relevant to procurement (including customs, excise, and food safety).
  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification or equivalent is a plus.
