What will you do? 

As the Legal Counsel, you will contribute to Mintos Legal Team and other teams in shaping Mintos investment products and services in legally compliant form.

You will:

• Carry out legal research in the field of investment products and services, as well as the issuance of financial instruments (e.g. FITL, MiFID, MiFIR, PRIIPs, MAR, Prospectus regulation), preparation of internal reports, presentations and legal memos;
• Draft legal documentation and content related to the provision of investment services to clients (e.g. disclosures, risk descriptions, disclaimers, standard agreements);
• Advise on the application of the terms of service of Mintos;
• Beginning-to-end work on documentation for issuance and manufacturing of  financial instruments and their offering (prospectuses, offering circulars) for investments offered on Mintos platform; 
• Draft internal procedures and policies in the field of investment services/products; 
• Carry out the development and maintenance of legal knowledge databases on passporting and marketing requirements concerning the investment products offered on MIntos;
• Effectively liaise with Operations, Product, Marketing Teams and other teams;
• Collaborate with other members of Mintos legal team;
• Work with other delegated tasks under the supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel or Head of Legal.

Your professional skills and background:

• Law degree or B.A. degree in law from a reputable university with strong academic performance. Masters degree in law or LLM will be a plus;
• At least 3 years post-university work experience with a proven soundtrack record working in a financial services practice of a reputable law firm or legal function of an investment firm, a bank or other regulated financial institution in the EU;
• Good understanding and knowledge of investment services/products regulatory framework in EU and the ability to navigate and apply EU national regulations.
• Experience in financial instruments issuance legal support will be a plus;
• Proficiency in legal English, including hands-on experience in drafting legal documentation. Other language skills, including a native speaker's level of command of Latvian, would be an added bonus;
• Strong interpersonal skills – ability to build consensus and work with partners from different backgrounds. Excellent interpersonal manner, including tact and diplomacy;
• Ability to prioritize own work and to work on own initiative.

Compensation:

• Salary: € 1 670 - 2 405 per month gross, and numerous additional benefits.
