Job Description

  • Design and calculate mechanical devices and assemblies.
  • Implement improvements of existing mechanical designs and assemblies.
  • Calculate factors like tolerance, dimensions, and thermal and structural analysis.
  • Collaborate with different departments and teams.
  • Prepare designs for fabrication and manufacturing.
  • Provide support during the building and installation process, ensuring that the machine is built properly and according to design specifications.
  • Perform other duties as requested by direct manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in respective field.
  • 2+ years of experience designing mechanical components and systems from concept through production validation.
  • Materials science knowledge.
  • Mechanical design knowledge.
  • Computer aided design skills.
  • Desirable Autodesk Fusion 360 knowledge.
  • Familiar with design for manufacturing (DFM) and different manufacturing processes;
  • Working knowledge of a large variety of materials (aluminum, steel, composites, foam, etc.).
  • Experience with design for reliability and respective durability testing requirements;
  • At least B2 (Independent user) level of English knowledge.
  • The ability to work in a team.
