Payroll Administrator

GoCardless, SIA
1660 - 2500 €/m Gross

Job Description

Reporting to the Payroll Partner, we are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Administrator to join our People Operations team in Riga. You will provide essential administrative support across all areas of payroll processing, helping to ensure that our employees are paid accurately and on time, every time.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in payroll and HR operations, working within a collaborative team and gaining hands-on experience across payroll controls, employee queries, benefits administration, and cross-functional finance liaison. You will work closely with the Finance team and act as a key point of contact for employee payroll queries, ensuring that our people have a seamless and positive experience at every stage.

  • Finance Team Liaison: You will act as a first point of contact for payroll-related queries from the Finance team, providing accurate data and escalating variances to the Payroll Partner where needed.
  • Employee Payroll Queries: You will support employees with payroll queries, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely and professional manner, maintaining a query log to track issues through to resolution and again working closely with the Payroll Partner to escalate where needed.
  • Payroll Controls Administration: You will help to implement and administer our payroll control tasks, carrying out pre- and post-payroll checks to ensure accuracy and compliance at every pay cycle and identifying process improvements for future scalability and efficiency.
  • Payroll Processing Support: You will assist the Payroll Partner with end-to-end payroll processing where required, collecting and verifying data inputs and maintaining payroll records in line with statutory requirements.
  • Compliance & Documentation: You will support the maintenance of payroll audit trails and documentation in line with GDPR and relevant labour laws, and assist with statutory reporting.
  • Benefits Administration: You will support our Reward and People Operations teams with the administration of employee benefits including renewals and maintaining accurate records as well as assisting employees with benefits queries and enrolment.

Requirements

  • Payroll or Finance Administration Experience: Some prior experience in a payroll, HR or finance administrative role — internship or junior-level experience is welcome.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong numerical accuracy and a methodical, structured approach to work, with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with care.
  • Clear Communicator: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to handle queries from employees and key stakeholders.
  • Organised & Deadline-Driven: Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet strict payroll deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Growth Mindset: A curiosity to learn and develop within payroll and People operations, with an eagerness to take on new challenges, build expertise over time, and use AI to drive efficiencies.
