SEM (Search Engine Marketing) Specialist

The main purpose of your role

As part of our growth plans, we’re looking for a Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Specialist to join our dynamic global Marketing team.

You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve our website's search engine rankings; managing pay-per-click advertising campaigns; and analysing website performance data, to drive informed decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEO best practices, proficiency in PPC advertising platforms, and the ability to interpret and communicate insights from analytics data.

 

What will you be doing as an SEM Specialist?

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive SEO strategies, to improve organic search rankings and drive website traffic.
  • Conducting keyword research, to identify high-value search terms and opportunities for content optimisation.
  • Optimising website content - including copywriting, meta tags, and site structure - to improve search visibility and user experience.
  • Monitoring and analysing website performance, using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other relevant platforms.
  • Generating regular reports on website traffic, user behaviour, and key performance metrics, and providing actionable insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Planning, executing, and optimising pay-per-click advertising campaigns across various platforms, such as Google Ads, Bing Ads, and social media advertising.
  • Conducting A/B tests and other experiments, to improve campaign performance and ROI.
  • Staying informed about industry trends, algorithm updates, and best practices in SEO, PPC, and analytics, and incorporating these insights into our strategies.

To thrive at your role, we expect you will be/have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in SEO, PPC advertising, and website analytics, with a strong track record of improving search rankings and driving measurable results.
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO best practices, including technical SEO, on-page optimisation, and link building.
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics, Google Ads, Hotjar, and other relevant tools and platforms.
  • Experience in using SEO and advertising research tools, such as Semrush, ahrefs, SEOSurfer etc.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive actionable insights and optimisations.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative campaign strategies and solutions.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • The ability to use initiative and work without close supervision.
  • Able to apply a flexible approach to workload with conflicting deadlines.
  • Strong team working skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A quick learner with an interest in learning new skills.
  • A positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills.

 

And here are some desirable (but not essential) qualities:

 

  • Qualifications: Digital marketing, advertising, data analysis, and search engine marketing.
  • Creative writing skills.
  • Proofreading skills.
  • Digital marketing skills.
  • Experience with marketing automation.
  • Experience of website editing, using WYSIWYG type editors.
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

Locations and Salary

Latvia - 18,614 euro - 22,255 euro per annum  – working remotely or, where we have an office, hybrid.

Must have the legal right to work in and be based in Latvia
