Job Description

British Embassy Riga is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas, and is now looking to recruit a motivated Residence Housekeeper.

 

As a full-time member of Embassy team you will be responsible for overall cleanliness and upkeep of the Ambassador's Official Residence, Ambassadors' private quarters, entertaining spaces, guest rooms and service areas. You will also be doing laundry and ironing; preparing the Official Residence for, and serving during, receptions; and doing a number of supporting tasks.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least a year of experience in housekeeping.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills. Responsive to customer needs and able to treat others with respect and courtesy regardless of work pressures.
  • Has a high standard of personal presentation.
  • Able to work effectively and supportively with colleagues, both individually and in a team.
  • Able to act with discretion at all times.
  • Able to effectively self-organise, prioritise and a proven ability to work under pressure.
  • Keen attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Basic working level knowledge of English.
  • At least a year of experience in housekeeping, and/or catering.
  • Experience in maintaining inventories.
  • Previous relevant working experience in an international standard hotel, diplomatic residence or equivalent.

Visa/Passport requirements: Must currently hold the independent right to live and work in Latvia and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract.
