Job Description

The role requires the management and coordination of all purchasing activities, understanding of the UK and European markets notably in terms of subcontractors, labour agencies, suppliers and manufacturers of engineering equipment. 

The role will also require a significant level of interaction with both internal and external stakeholders, therefore the ability to build effective relationships along with a “go get” attitude is a fundamental requirement. 

 

Job Description:

  • Carry out market research for suppliers of services, electrical and mechanical subcontractors, labour resource providers;
  • Present new ideas to help improve the supply chain within the business;
  • Maintain and update approved vendor list of suppliers and subcontractors
  • Act as the focal point for all day to day material requirements across an agreed range of suppliers; 
  • Work with suppliers to ensure deliveries of goods and services are on-time, in full and aligned with the needs of the business; 
  • Escalate, where appropriate, any significant issues that require management intervention or awareness; 
  • Audit and regularly work with suppliers and subcontractors to resolve issues impacting performance, such as, Quality discrepancies, Book in queries, Permits/Concessions or Invoice query resolution and corrective actions where needed;
  • Work with to ensure/create robust and efficient Supply chains; 
  • Undertaking due diligence and mitigating all risks from supplier shortlisting through to execution;
  • Responsibility for full sourcing process; 
  • Ensure maximum efficiencies in procurement through best practice service delivery, specification development and identifying opportunities for service improvements;
  • Management of import/export process within EU and UK and US with general understanding of applicable taxes

Education: Higher education diploma minimum Bachelor degree in a related field

Work experience needed: min 3 years experience in similar roleIT skills: Digital (MS office)

Languages : English (fluent) and LatvianPersonal abilities: Communication skills, team player, result oriented, strong negotiation skills

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the following:

- Previous experience in a similar role of at least three years is required (preferably with electrical and mechanical subcontractors)

- Strong ability to multi-task is vital

- Strong IT skills and Microsoft Office

- Strong English written and oral communication is essential

- Personal abilities: Communication skills, team player, result oriented, strong negotiation skills.
