Job Description

The Sales Engineer is reporting to the Regional Sales Director. The main areas of responsibility include developing the commercial portfolio, maximizing revenue opportunities and enhancing the company’s competitive position; reviewing and evaluating proposals for prospective and existing clients and research to determine feasibility of projects; liaising with public and private sector organizations to obtain and disseminate information; monitoring clients business performance and maintaining up-to-date information on time.
Area of Activity will be the CIS countries.


  • BSc or MSc in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgist
  • MBA will be considered as an advantage
  • Knowledge of the principles of Project Management and Business Development
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office
  • Knowledge of SAP will be considered as an advantage
  • Excellent Knowledge in Russian and English languages
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build rapports

Magotteaux, the Belgian foundry started in 1918 is the world leader in differentiated solutions against wear. Magotteaux supplies the widest range of optimized solutions (products, services and systems) to industries involved in comminution (material size reduction): mines, cement, coal power stations, quarries and recycling. Magotteaux also designs specific solutions for the dredging industry.

To answer their customers’ needs, Magotteaux researches, designs, manufactures and distributes grinding media and wear resistant parts thanks to a thorough understanding of :

– the production processes of the different customers,
– the wear mechanisms (abrasion, corrosion, impact) involved,
– the material (alloy) aspects.

Our services cover pre-sales (audits, analyses, diagnoses,…), sales (inc. installation, supervision and equipment fine-tuning) and after-sales (performance follow-up, real time mill management,…).

Though Magotteaux is no OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), the Group designs and manufactures specific machines such as a vertical shaft impactor, a classifier, filling sensors, an automated ball addition system,…, always with a view to optimize the customer total cost of ownership.

Magotteaux is part of the Chilean Group Sigdo Koppers since the end of 2011. The first acquisitions under the new ownership allow the Magotteaux Group to be the only global provider of the complete range of grinding media solutions: low chrome (cast and forged), high chrome and ceramics (beads to be used in ultra-fine grinding stirred mills).

Magotteaux employs about 3,200 skilled talents, has a market footprint of above 500,000 tons of grinding media and castings through its 19 specialized production sites and 27 sales offices. The total turnover amounted to approximately USD 777 million in 2014. The Belgian foundry is part of the Chilean Group Sigdo Koppers, the Chilean-based conglomerate focused on services to the mining industry.
